TheSeptember 5, 2025, episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown saw AJ Lee make hershocking return to WWE after over a decade. It was clearly not an easy process and now Triple H has revealed how long it took to convince her to come back.
While speaking during the WrestlePalooza pre-show, Big E asked Triple H how long the process of bringing AJ Lee back to WWE had been in the works and how long they had been talking to her about a return.
Triple H explained that the idea had been in his head for a long time and was something he had discussed with others, including CM Punk. He joked that all it really took was someone slapping Punk to make it happen, saying that while it was unlucky for Punk, it was great news for WWE because AJ Lee is now back.
CM Punk and AJ Lee are set to square off againstSeth Rollins and Becky Lynch at WWE Wrestlealooza and its clear AJ Lee has put in the work to make sure her performance will be a memorable one. Nonetheless, its just great to have AJ Lee back and so well have to see if she can truly hang with the best in WWE right now.
