Jamie Vardys storied Leicester City chapter came to an end last season, but the 38-year-old cult hero is already making headlines in Italy after joining Serie A side Cremonese.

Vardy signed an initial one-year deal with the newly promoted club which includes an option for a further 12 months and so far, the move is going smoothly. Cremonese are unbeaten and sitting third in the table, Vardy has made his debut, and reports suggest he and wife Rebekah are settling nicely into la dolce vita with their two children.

The couple have bought a 2m villa in Sal historically infamous as Benito Mussolinis home base, and coincidentally now the hometown of Vardys new teammate, Romano Mussolini (the dictators great-grandson).

Alongside enjoying their new surroundings, the Vardys are also taking Italian lessons. Jamie, however, is said to be particularly enjoying the more colourful parts of the vocabulary.

Jamie and Becky are already loving Italian life and doing all they can to blend in seamlessly. The whole family is having Italian lessons, and Jamie is already au fait with some of the more colourful swear words, a source told The Sun.

Apparently, his favourite so far is Vaffanculo a not-so-polite phrase that loosely translates to get lost.

It fits perfectly with Vardys reputation: hes previously said to have deliberately learned swear words in the languages of his Premier League opponents to wind them up during games. Now, it seems hes bringing that cheeky skillset to Serie A meaning Italian defenders might be getting more than just a headache from chasing him around.
