Adam Copeland and Christian Cage have been teaming up again for the past couple of months, but some fans wonder if itll be the same as before. As it turns out, Copeland has now claimed their reunion wont be a greatest hits tour.
In an interview with The Score, Copeland said this reunion isnt just about nostalgia. Instead, they are creating a fresh version of their team that reflects how both of their characters have grown and changed.
The Rated R Superstar explained that they are not simply repeating old highlights but building something new, with a fun can they get along? dynamic similar to Statler and Waldorf from the Muppets. Copeland believes this new approach keeps the partnership exciting and different from a typical greatest-hits return.
Copeland also praised Christians strong work as a heel, saying it was crucial to their story. He didnt want Christian to lose the edge he has built as a heel, so they worked carefully to keep that character intact.
The idea is that Christian remains unapologetically difficult, while Copelands role is to make fans accept him as he is. Copeland said this mix makes their reunion feel fresh and unique.
Adam Copeland and Christian Cage will be teaming up to square off against Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler in a tag team match at AEW All Out. So it remains to be seen who will walk out as the winner.
