The September 19th edition of Friday Night SmackDown will be the go-home edition of the show before WWE Wrestlepalooza. Ahead of Wrestlepalooza, CM Punk has confirmed his status for SmackDown this week.

While speaking on Pardon My Take, CM Punk confirmed he will be in Indianapolis for SmackDown on Friday. He said he wont appear on screen but will be backstage helping out with the show.

Of course, CM Punk is set to team up with AJ Lee and square off against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch in a mixed tag team match at the WWE Wrestlepalooza Premium Live Event.

CM Punk might not show up on TV this Friday, but hell still play a big part in SmackDown. As he gets ready for his Wrestlepalooza match, his backstage work shows hes just as important to WWE behind the scenes as he is in the ring.
