World No. 33 Emma Raducanu's former coach Mark Petchey thinks there are three short-term targets the 22-year-old should look to accomplish over the next couple of months.
Petchey, who worked with Raducanu briefly even before she turned pro, returned to the Briton's team in March and they collaborated until the grass season concluded. Since then, the world No. 33 has added Rafael Nadal's former coach Francisco Roig to her team.
Currently, Raducanu is in Seoul, where she is slated to kick off what should be a loaded Asian swing for her. And since the 22-year-old doesn't have many points to defend in the rest of the year, her former coach believes it is an outstanding opportunity to get inside the top-30 and guarantee herself a seeding at the Australian Open.

If I was Emma, Id have like three targets. Number one would be to get inside the top 32. I dont think that you need to be anything more than that," Petchey told BetVictor.
Petchey would like to see Raducanu's game become 'more impactfful'
When Raducanu hired Roig, she underlined that her No. 1 priority was to improve as a player and become a bigger threat.
Number two goal is obviously to feel that your game can be more impactful, more often," Petchey added.
Petchey also thinks that Raducanu has yet to unlock her serving potential to the fullest.
And number three, to keep working on that serve; to keep making sure shes getting the maximum out of it. Everyone wants to talk about the fact that it can be better but there will be a limit on it just because of how tall she is. All she can do is keep working on it and make it the best that it can become subject to the natural restrictions of physics and geometry," Petchey concluded.

At the US Open, Raducanu claimed that she wasn't focused on results, but only on getting to the point where she feels strong enough to challenge and beat the best players of the game.
