Ricochet parted ways with WWE back in July 2024 after his contract expired. While Ricochet is clearly happy in AEW right now, it seems he feels WWE didnt really put enough effort to keep him.
While speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Ricochet was asked if WWE made an effort to keep him before he left. He explained that from his perspective, they didnt really try.
While he believes an offer was made, the two sides couldnt come to an agreement, so he decided to leave. Ricochet said he never felt like WWE clearly expressed that they truly wanted him to stay.
Although he admitted that such a conversation might not have changed his decision, his experience left him feeling that no serious attempt was made to convince him. He added that others might have had different experiences, but that was how it felt to him.
While Ricochet feels Triple H left the door open for a WWE return, Ricochet himself doesnt want to return to the company. Regardless, things have clearly worked out for the best since Ricochet is thriving in AEW and thats all that matters in the end.
