We're only through Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season. Yes, it's very early. But we're already taking a quick look at the current playoff picture and the road to Super Bowl LX. Which teams have the best chances to make the 14-team playoff field? Which still have a lot of work to do to ultimately get in?
We used ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI) to project the rest of the season, looking at the playoff picture for both conferences. We included updated odds for every team to make the postseason, clinch its division and even make the Super Bowl.
Here's everything you need right now.

Projecting the AFC playoff field
The Chiefs' loss to the Eagles in a Week 2 Super Bowl rematch did nothing to improve their standings in the playoff picture. They're no longer projected to win the AFC West, according to ESPN Analytics. In fact, they are third in division title chances behind the Chargers and Broncos. This would be the first time the Chiefs have not won the AFC West since 2015.
The Colts continued their dream 2-0 start to the season with a win over the Broncos and their staunch defense; Indianapolis now has the fourth-best chances to make the playoffs in the conference. Meanwhile, Joe Burrow's injury has created a nightmare for the 2-0 Bengals -- but they are still fifth in AFC odds.
Projecting the NFC playoff field
After a dominant win over the Commanders, the Packers take the top spot in NFC projections this week (Washington, meanwhile, sits below 50% to make the playoffs). The Buccaneers and Eagles round out the top three, while the 49ers leapfrog over the Rams in the NFC West race.
The Giants remain at the bottom of the playoff race and could be vying for the top overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft -- despite a strong showing from Russell Wilson in an overtime loss to the Cowboys.
