Joao Fonseca has very clear goals for his Laver Cup debut as the 19-year-old hopes to get a shot at the likes of Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev, as well as help Team World beat Team World.
Fonseca, who made a rapid start to the year and quickly established himself as one of the most promising and talented players in the game, was invited to play at this year's Laver Cup edition in San Francisco. And this year's Buenos Aires champion didn't hesitate with his decision at all.
Besides Alcaraz and Zverev, Team Europe will also be represented by a couple of other well-known names - Holger Rune, Casper Ruud, Jakub Mensik and Flavio Cobolli. Every one of them is a potential rival for Fonseca.

I love playing with the best. Carlos [Alcaraz] or Sascha [Zverev] would be super. If Andre picked me for anyone, Ill be ready," the 19-year-old stated.
Team World will also be represented by Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur, Francisco Cerundolo, Alex Michelsen and Reilly Opelka. And one of Fonseca's wishes is to also play doubles with fellow South American Cerundolo.
Hopefully we can play doubles with each other, the Brazilian admitted.
Fonseca pays tribute to new Team World captain Andre Agassi
Following the conclusion of last year's Laver Cup, long-time Team World captain John McEnroe stepped down from his position. Now, that position belongs to one of the most iconic players in tennis history - Agassi.
I love his journey and the way that he played was super nice," Fonseca said of Agassi.

Team Europe owns a 5-2 record against Team World.
Im going to bring a great vibe and hopefully, great tennis that will help them to take this trophy, Fonseca underlined.
The eighth Laver Cup edition will start next Friday (September 19th) and conclude on Sunday (September 21st).
