Janice Tjen's outstanding week in Sao Paulo continues after the Indonesian ousted No. 6 seed Francesca Jones 7-6 (0) 6-3 to become the first player from her country to reach a WTA singles final in 23 years.

Tjen, who entered Sao Paulo ranked at No. 130 in the world, failed to serve out for the opening set in the 10th game but absolutely dominated the first-set tie-break as she took it without a dropped point. In the second set, the Indonesian collected the lone break in the eighth game for a 5-3 lead before closing out the match on her serve in the following game.

By reaching the title match at the WTA 500 tournament in Sao Paulo, Tjen also achieved a nice feat as Indonesia once again has a finalist on the main level.

"It's special. It's my first WTA tournament as well, outside of Grand Slams, and being able to reach the final is a bonus. At the end of the day, it's just another match, so I'll see how I do tomorrow!" the 23-year-old admitted.

Tjen already has 13 titles on the lower-tier; Can she win her maiden WTA title in Sao Paulo?

Last year, the Indonesian won seven Futures titles. Through the first six months of this season, the world No. 130 added six additional Futures titles to her collection.

On Sunday, Tjen will have a chance to win her maiden WTA title when she takes on world No. 214 Tiantsoa Sarah Rakotomanga Rajaonah. The rising Indonesian tennis star and the promising Frenchwoman have no previous meetings.

It is worth mentioning that before achieving a notable feat in Sao Paulo, Tjen did the same at the US Open.
