Golf is a globally popular game, and many celebrities from the world of film, music and sports choose to play golf. The famous musician and former member of One Direction, Niall Horan, is a person who is extremely passionate about this sport and enjoys spending time on the golf courses.

In an interview with the media, Horan recalled an interesting experience from ten years ago, when Rory McIlroy asked him to be his caddy at the Masters.

Speaking two years ago on the Fore Play podcast, Horan shared what it all looked like. In fact, the great Northern Irish golfer sent him a message a week earlier, which almost brought tears to his eyes.

The two are great friends and still have a great relationship.

"He just texted me like a week before. He said do you fancy carrying the bag for the Par-3.

I was like, let me start crying. The old Irish thing has this connection. I guess, sure, and we have got a lot of mutual friends beforehand and we knew each other quite well."- he said, as quoted by Mirror.

Saying "no" to Rory's call certainly isn't easy, but he didn't even think about it because he was aware that he had a great opportunity ahead of him.

Horan didn't have such a great experience

However, the music star's experience wasn't entirely positive, as he was allowed to play a shot on the ninth and final hole, but the ball ended up in the water.

He also suffered a dramatic fall, and in a media interview he shared how difficult it is to be a caddie and the pressure it brings when you caddie for such a famous golf figure as Rory McIlroy.

Speaking about McIlroy's request, Horan revealed that it's significantly different to perform in front of a large crowd than in front of those same people's parents.

Horan is also someone who has followed golf since he was a child, watching Tiger Woods, and McIlroy's message made him excited.

It's a moment he'll surely never forget.
