Wade Barrett has decided to debunk recent reports that claimed he was removed from his duties as part of the commentary team on the main roster.
Wade Barrett took to Twitter and responded to reports claiming his time as a main roster commentator had ended and that he would be off the road going forward. He said he usually ignores what he called BS reports, but this one was creating unnecessary negativity toward his colleagues.
Barrett clarified that WWE had simply given him a couple of weeks off for personal time, something he booked nine months ago, and that he will be back to work as usual afterwards. He dismissed the story entirely, calling it a complete non-story.
This comes after PWInsider claimed Wade Barrett was no longer part of WWEs commentary rotation. It was claimed that Wade Barrett would be off the road going forward, as his time as a commentator on the main roster had come to an end.
On the September 5 episode of SmackDown, WWE confirmed that Michael Cole and Corey Graves will serve as the permanent commentary team for both Raw and SmackDown, with Joe Tessitore stepping aside to cover college football. Once Wade Barrett returns, it should provide clarity on how WWE plans to structure its commentary rotation going forward.
