
World no. 2 Carlos Alcaraz is through to his seventh Major final and the third in a row! The 22-year-old faced the legend Novak Djokovic in the US Open semi-final and earned a 6-4, 7-6, 6-2 victory in two hours and 23 minutes.
Thus, Carlos ousted Novak for the fourth time in nine duels and the first in hard court duels. The El Palmar native will face Jannik Sinner or Felix Auger-Aliassime in the quest for the second US Open crown.
Djokovic gave everything against a mch younger opponent in the opening two sets, challenging world no. 2 for nearly two hours before losing ground. The Spaniard dominated with his first serve and dropped serve once from the only chance offered to the veteran.
Novak played against seven break points and experienced four breaks to end his campaign in the semi-final at the fourth straight Major. Carlos clinched the first set with a break in the first game.

The Serb provided his only break at the beginning of the second set and led 3-0. Alcaraz pulled the mini-break back in the fifth game and outplayed Djokovic in the tie break to open a massive advantage.
Novak had nothing left in the tank in the third set, suffering two breaks and propelling the youngster over the top.
