It used to be hard to imagine a Ryder Cup without Brooks Koepka. The experienced golfer, who has been an important figure in the American Ryder Cup team for years, will remain short this year for the appearance at this prestigious tournament.
His form at LIV Golf was not ideal, so Keegan Bradley decided not to give him a chance. Are frustrations present with Brooks Koepka?
In an interview with the Off The Ball podcast, the experienced American golfer pointed out that he is aware of his form, knowing that he did not deserve a place in the team.
However, he aims to recover again, return to winning ways and deserve a call to the next Ryder Cup.
Yeah, I mean, I played my way off it, so theres nobody else (to blame), he said in an interview with the Off The Ball Podcast at the Irish Open.
I cant be disappointed, I did it myself. Its not anything Im not aware of. Im not shying away from it. Its just bad timing. You have one down year, but if its the year after the Ryder Cup, it makes it a whole lot easier to catch up."
Majors and LIV Golf
The famous golfer has excelled in the Major tournaments in the past. However, this season he has had a serious crisis related to these tournaments, making the cut in only one of the four Majors.
The American golfer finished 12th at the US Open, but that is far from his ambitions and desires.
The 35-year-old player has not been so successful on LIV Golf either, considering that he has not achieved a single victory.
Playing on that Tour means you do not have a chance to collect points for the world ranking, and his performances have also not caught the attention of Keegan Bradley.
Speaking to the media, Brooks Koepka believes that LIV Golf is not the reason why he is not on the team.
"Just the situation Im in being on LIV and not playing well I dont think LIV had anything to do with me not being on the team. It was more of a Hey, the timing of the year and just trying to get that ball rolling, Koepka continued.
