
South African Thriston Lawrence was the star of the Omega European Masters, played in challenging weather conditions on the par-70 Crans-sur-Sierre GC course in Crans Montana, Switzerland. He finished the 91st edition of the tournament with a 258 (63, 66, 63, 66, -22), two ahead of Finland's Sami Valimaki, Denmark's Rasmus Hojgaard, and defending champion England's Matt Wallace, who finished second on 260 (-20). This was his second win in the event, following his success in 2022.

Guido Migliozzi, 13th on 266 (-14), and Andrea Pavan, 17th on 267 (-13), both performed well, confirming their progress after a difficult period. Matteo Manassero finished 40th on 272 (-8).
Thriston Lawrence, 28, from Nelspruit, is winning his fifth title on the DP World Tour, a title he hadn't won in two years. His trophy case also includes two wins on the Sunshine Tour, two combined with the continental circuit, one on the MENA Golf Tour, one on the Big Easy Tour, and one on the ITG Pro Tour. This season, he played on the PGA Tour, earning his place with a third-place finish in the 2024 Race to Dubai (European Order of Merit). Leading after 54 holes, he got off to a thrilling start with three straight bogeys, then decisively turned the tide, stringing together an eagle and five birdies for the winning 66 (-4). His more tenacious opponent was Wallace, who, however, paid dearly with a bogey on the 14th hole. Lawrence was rewarded with a 473,432 prize pool of approximately 2,780,000 (the official figure is $3,250,000).

Two Englishmen finished fifth and sixth, Matt Fitzpatrick with a 261 (-19) and Richard Mansell with a 262 (-18), respectively. Swiss Joel Girrbach finished seventh with a 263 (-17), and among the five competitors, promising Spaniard Angel Ayora finished eighth with a 265 (-15), his fourth top ten finish of the season.
Migliozzi (66 66 67 67), a 28-year-old from Vicenza, shot 67 (-3) with four birdies and one bogey, Pavan (66 68 64 69), a 36-year-old from Rome, shot 69 (-1, four birdies, three bogeys) and Manassero (68 66 67 71), a 32-year-old from Negrar di Valpolicella (VR), returning after a rest period, shot 71 (+1, three birdies, two bogeys, one double bogey). Gregorio De Leo, 68th with 138 (68 70, -2), and Francesco Laporta, 139th with 145 (75 70, +5), were eliminated at the cut.
