AEW executive and wrestling legend Jeff Jarrett shared a heartfelt story about his familys special connection to Taylor Swift, revealing how the pop superstar once gave an impromptu three-hour concert inside his home.
Speaking with TMZ, Jarrett recalled the moment in December 2006, when his first wife was gravely ill with breast cancer. It was Christmas of 2006, my first wife was really ill with breast cancer. She passed away about five months after this, so she was really ill, he explained.
A mutual friend suggested Swiftwho at the time was still a rising local star in Hendersonville, Tennesseevisit Jarretts daughters, who were fans. What began as a quiet stop quickly became something unforgettable. She came over and didnt bring her guitar in, but she actually ran back home that day because the girls wanted her to sing and play, Jarrett remembered.
As word spread, more friends and family showed up to the Jarrett household. It was just started out with, you know, I dont know, the girls, 5, 6, 7, people. By the end of the afternoon, Taylor played about three hours, and it ended up probably in our great room There was probably 35, 40, 45 people at the end of it, he said. Jarrett admitted that was the day Swift truly bonded with his family. That was where, I think, in a lot of ways, and Ill get emotional saying that she kind of bonded with the family, specifically with the girls.
Even after his wife passed away months later, Swifts support didnt stop. Jarrett said she continued to show kindness to his daughters. When my wife passed away, you know, Taylor stayed, hung around, and then was really good to the girls. She came over and said, Hey, Im going to take the girls back to my house, and they would bake cookies.
Jarrett even vouched for her baking skills, laughing about the impact they might have on Swifts fianc, NFL star Travis Kelce. I can assure you, a Taylor Swift cookie she can cook, and she definitely can bake a mean chocolate chip cookie. I wouldnt be surprised if, oh, Travis didnt put on a few lbs post football.
The family connection didnt end there. Years later, Jarretts daughter Jaclyn was cast to play a young Taylor Swift in the music video for her hit song Mine. Jarrett also revealed he occasionally still crosses paths with Swifts father, Scott, in their hometown.
In true wrestling fashion, Jarrett extended a playful invitation to Travis Kelce to step into an AEW ring once his football career winds down. I would love for Kelce to step on into an AEW ring The door will be open at AEW. I got a guitar shot for Travis, he joked.
He praised both Travis and Jason Kelce for their natural charisma, calling them showmen at heart, and also tipped his hat to Swifts sharp business instincts. Im always amazed at kind of her strategic moves. Even her wedding engagement announcement was strategically placed. So hats off. Maybe the best marketer of our time.
Jeff Jarretts story shows just how deep Taylor Swifts impact runs beyond music, leaving memories that his family still cherishes today.
