Iga Swiatek was left stunned and in disbelief over a question received in her post-US Open win presser, which led to a pretty blunt reaction.
On Thursday, Swiatek had a tougher day at the office than anticipated but still made it past world No. 66 Suzan Lamens 6-1 4-6 6-4. After surviving a second-round scare, the No. 3 seed answered several questions in English. Then came the time for Polish journalists to ask some questions in their native language. And that's when Polish tennis journalist Tomek Moczerniuk asked the 24-year-old whether she ever considered putting beads in her hair.
Swiatek: What kind of question is that?
This is New York, people here like to put on a show, whether good or bad. Some scream on the court, some quarrel, some enter the court with labubu dolls. Have you ever thought of, I dont know, putting beads in your hair," the journalist asked the Polish tennis star.

The six-time Grand Slam champion bluntly responded: What kind of question is that? Did you think about putting beads in your hair? No. Whats going on here? What sort of a question was that?
After seeing Swiatek's response to the question, Moczerniuk walked out of the press room - while the former world No. 1 stared at him in disbelief and shook her head.
As you probably know, Carlos Alcaraz's new haircut has drawn lots of attention at this year's US Open. The issue is that the general reaction to the Spaniard's buzz cut is mostly negative.
Some thought that Moczerniuk wanted to get a certain response from Swiatek and that's why some had issues with his question for the 24-year-old.
