There was a change of plans this week.

The August 29 episode of WWE SmackDown went down at the LDLC Arena in Lyon-Dcines, France. The show before Clash in Paris also included a WWE Womens Tag Team Title match.

The Womens Tag Team Championship was on the line as Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss defended against Piper Niven & Alba Fyre.

Flair and Bliss have had a unique relationship throughout this storyline. They aligned with each other, but theyre more allies of convenience. That being said, it still resulted in the two shoo-in WWE Hall of Famers racking up another title reign as tag team champions.

This match was supposed to go down, but then Charlotte Flair was attacked by Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre. This beat-down went down for a bit and then the match was called off. Charlotte Flair was then taken to the back and a singles match was started instead.

Chelsea Green and Alexa Bliss had a singles match instead of a WWE Womens Tag Team Title match. Also, Piper Niven was said to be not cleared to compete, so she didnt make the trip to France, either.

We will have to see when Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair are able to defend their titles again. For the time being, the two are still holding their gold as they wait to see whats next.
