Bodyslam has learned that Swerve is set to undergo surgery this Wednesday, the site stated, adding well wishes for a smooth recovery. We can only hope that Strickland makes it back ASAP, because he is a vital asset to their operation.

At Forbidden Door, Strickland challenged Kazuchika Okada for the AEW Unified Championship. After the match, Okada targeted Stricklands injured knee. He pulled Strickland to the ring post, trapped his leg between the post and the steps, and drove a steel chair into the joint.

Although Strickland competed at the pay-per-view, the angle fueled speculation that reports of his lingering injury were accurate. With surgery now confirmed, Strickland is expected to miss significant time from AEW programming.
