Although he is currently playing in the Tour Championship, Rory McIlroy is focused on the Ryder Cup. The famous golfer has high expectations from this competition.
He put a special accent on Luke Donald, the captain of the European team, who is ready to do everything so that this team can lift such an important trophy.
The Europeans did not make a name for themselves, performing in America for the last year, but their goal is to change the current tradition and finally win at Bethpage Black.
McIlroy commented on the role of European captain at the press conference after the second day of the Tour Championship, having only words of thanks for him.

The reporter was interested in the benefits of Luke Donald, referring to the fact that he is the captain again, just like two years ago when they played in Rome.
"Just continuity. Most of us know what his communication style is. Most of us know what he's looking for in us.
Luke and I live on the same street in Florida; we see each other all the time, so we talk about it a lot. I know what he wants from me, and I try to do that as best as I can.
But I think just that continuity piece, and we all know what we're going to get whenever we turn up at Bethpage, which I think is reassuring for a lot of the players.."- he said.
Phone numbers
Rory still has fond memories of the Ryder Cup that took place in Wales in 2010. The Northern Irish golfer was brilliant then and it was already clear that he would be one of the greatest.

The reporter was interested in whether there were any numbers in Rory's phone that he no longer recognizes. But it is clear that a lot has changed since the moment he played in Wales.
As many as 15 years have passed since that edition of the Ryder Cup.
The 36-year-old golfer explains that now is the time for some new faces, for young golfers who show their perspective.
A lot changes over the years, including the situation on the golf scene. Some of the famous faces we used to see are now far from the popularity they once had or have ended their careers.
"Yeah, geez, there's -- I don't know if people have changed their numbers since then. I would hope that they have. I've certainly changed mine a few times.

Yeah, I mean, obviously Monty was our captain back then. Pretty sure I don't have Colin Montgomerie's number right now. It's changed a lot.
I played on Ryder Cup teams with all those guys that were sort of the core of that European team for a decade or more, and that's who I started with, and now we've sort of created our own core group, and it's the next generation, and that's a cool thing.
There's a few guys there that I probably don't have their number anymore or they don't have mine.."- he said.
