Victoria Mboko had a very interesting story to tell during her appearance on Andy Roddick's podcast as one of the fastest-rising stars revealed that her most humiliating tennis defeat came from none other than her sister Gracia.
Earlier this month, Mboko made all the headlines when she as a wildcard stormed past the Montreal player field, beating four Grand Slam champions (Sofia Kenin, Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina & Naomi Osaka) en route to becoming a WTA 1000 champion in one of the most impressive ways possible. As a reward for her run, the 18-year-old improved for more than 50 spots on the WTA rankings list - she is sitting at No. 24 in the world - and she is set to be a seed in her US Open debut.

Ahead of her first appearance at Flushing Meadows, Mboko agreed to be a guest on Roddick's podcast. At one segment of the show, the Canadian tennis star shared that when she was eight, the academy where she trained with her sisters organized a match between her and Gracia, who was 18 at the time. The elder sister registered a 6-0 6-0 win.
Mboko: My sister annihilated me... I cried for the rest of the day and didn't speak with her for a week
"I remember once our academy tournament director kind of put us against each other first round, because I was an alternate in the tournament and yeah, they let me choose the type of ball and whatever court surface we were able to choose. She annihilated me 6-0, 6-0 and I think that was the most I've ever cried in a day. I just remember crying in my dad's arms for the rest of the day and I think I didn't talk to her for a good week," the reigning Montreal champion shared on the Served with Andy Roddick podcast.

10 years later, Mboko is drawing attention for her tennis skills and she is now widely regarded as one of the most promising and talented players in the world. Following the Canadian's Montreal win, her coach Nathalie Tauziat notedin one of the interviews that the 18-year-old pulled out of Cincinnati to prepare well for the US Open, for which she had big plans.
