CM Punk is back in WWE and, by his own words, its exactly what he wanted.
Appearing on ESPNs First Take, Punk was asked whether his return has lived up to the hype. He didnt hesitate to give credit to the company for delivering the experience he hoped for:
Punk shocked the wrestling world when he came back to WWE in November 2023 after nearly a decade away. His short but chaotic run in AEW ended in September of that year when his contract was terminated. Since then, WWE has slotted him right into top feuds first with Drew McIntyre, and now with Seth Rollins.
Punk told First Take that his programs have already delivered big moments, even if Rollins remains a thorn in his side:
At SummerSlam, Punk briefly captured the World Heavyweight Championship before Rollins immediately snatched it back. The two will clash again at WWE Clash in Paris on August 31, where Rollins defends the title in a fatal four-way against Punk, LA Knight, and Jey Uso.
Beyond his current feud, Punk is also hyped for WWEs new partnership with ESPN. The first premium live event under the deal kicks off next month.
From clashing with Rollins to pushing WWE into a new broadcast era, Punk seems locked in and ready for the next chapter.
Do you think CM Punk will walk out of Clash in Paris as champion, or will Seth Rollins, LA Knight, or Jey Uso leave with the gold? Drop your thoughts below.
