What looked like just another storyline on AEW Dynamite actually reflects real-life trouble for one of the companys top stars. On the August 13 episode of Dynamite, it was announced that Swerve Strickland had been checked by AEW doctors for a knee issue.

Fightful Select reported that Swerve has been working through a torn meniscus, and it isnt a fresh injury either.

AEW sources revealed that Swerve is receiving treatment from the Jacksonville Jaguars medical team. However, surgery remains on the table if the injury worsens.

This isnt the first time Strickland considered taking a break. Earlier this year, there were discussions about him stepping away from the ring after AEW All In, but those plans never materialized.

The news couldnt come at a more crucial time, as Swerve is set to defend the AEW Unified Title against Kazuchika Okada at Forbidden Door a showdown that now carries extra uncertainty.

Swerve Strickland has been on the run of his career, but with a torn meniscus lingering since 2019, fans are wondering how long he can keep pushing forward without surgery.

Do you think Swerve should gut it out through Forbidden Door or finally take the time off to heal? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
