Expectations on Emma Raducanu are always high when the US Open begins, the tournament that allowed her to become famous all over the world when she was very young thanks to her sensational triumph in the 2021 edition.
Everyone thought that the British star was already ready to make it to the top of the WTA tour when she lifted the trophy in New York four years ago, but the truth is that she was not ready to handle all that pressure yet and it is no coincidence that she had several difficulties in the following seasons.
The former world number 10 had to sort out numerous aspects related to hercareer and took longer than expected to find the correct stability both on and off the court. Emma has changed nine coaches since winning her first and only Grand Slam title and recently ended her partnership with Mark Petchey, which began in March and produced decent results.

Raducanu is set to work with Francisco Roig untilthe end of the season, with the aim of creating the right chemistry and climbing positions in the WTA rankings. Their partnership officially began at the 'Cincinnati Open', where the British player was eliminated by world number 1 Aryna Sabalenka at the end of a thrilling battle that lasted over three hours.
She played mixed doubles with Carlos Alcaraz in New York and is practicing hard with her team ahead of her singles debut.
A few days before the start of the US Open, top analyst Annabel Croft discussed Emma's chances in the last Grand Slam of 2025: Shes always got a good chance because shes such a good player. Its about her doing well and maintaining a high level for a sustained level of time.

It will depend on the draw but theres no question shell be in the mix. Shes done it before at the US Open before and shes back in what is probably her favorite tournament I would think, so that counts for a lot.
