The PGA Tour executives knew they had to take concrete steps to further strengthen their position in the world of golf.
The emergence of LIV Golf has been a serious threat to them for years. Despite this, they have managed to withstand various blows, pressures and the financial power of a rival tournament, maintaining their status in the world of golf and still remaining the dominant Tour.
The PGA Tour executives decided to take an interesting step, hiring Brian Rolapp as the new CEO of the PGA Tour.
Judging by his statements and his status in the world in general, it seems that Rolapp will be a very important figure in this story.

At a press conference before the start of the Tour Championship, Rolapp spoke about his new engagement and new role.
He primarily emphasized the reasons for joining this project, believing that the Tour has strong foundations and that it will certainly be able to progress in the future.
"The first is the underlying strength and momentum of the PGA TOUR is real. This is why I took the job. I had a feeling and a view that the underlying strength of the TOUR is strong, that its best days are ahead of it, and I still believe that. You can pick a statistic, Jay mentioned a few, whether it's ratings, fan engagement statistics, competitive numbers, whatever you want to pick, I think it denotes a very strong TOUR. That's a credit to the players, the partners, and everybody involved.

But having said that, I think there's a tremendous amount of room to grow and to innovate, and we're going to talk about that."- Rolapp said.
Tradition is important, but not crucial
The most important thing for PGA Tour fans is the strong optimism that Rolapp shows day after day.
You can feel a huge dose of optimism in his words, and he knew even before his involvement in this project that a great story could be made.
Although he is aware of how important tradition is in the world of golf, he emphasizes that it is not necessary to be too burdened by it.
Brian wants to turn a new leaf in the history of golf and start a story that will arouse the interest even of those who have not followed this sport.

It seems that a new era of golf could be opened with significant changes that will greatly change the future of the sport.
"I said when I took the job that I would take it with a clean sheet of paper, and that is still true. My fan letter on day one, I said, we're going to honor tradition, but we will not be overly bound by it. Now we're going to start turning that blank sheet of paper into action with an idea to aggressively build on the foundation that we have."- he said.
