Mats Wilander thinks Emma Raducanu is a better player now than she was four years ago when she won the US Open, and the former seven-time Grand Slam champion believes the 22-year has what it takes to be a top-10 player again but remains unsure if she is good enough to win another Major just yet.

Since becoming a Grand Slam winner in a historic way, Raducanu hasnt won any titles. However, the British tennis player has shown some very positive signs in her game over the last year by reaching a couple of semifinals and returning inside the top-35 for the first time in years.

At the start of the North American hard-court swing, Raducanu made the semifinal at the WTA 500 tournament in Washington. Then, the current world No. 35 hired Rafael Nadals former coach Francisco Roig and came very extremely close to upsetting Aryna Sabalenka in the Cincinnati, unfortunately for the Briton, her first win over a world No. 1 just slipped away from her after the Belarusian earned a tight 7-6 (3) 4-6 7-6 (5) win.

Asked what he is seeing in Raducanus game, Wilander said he believes the former world No. 10 is now very complete in all aspects of her game and overall a better player. However, the former Swedish world No. 1 admitted he wasnt sure if the Briton made major improvements in the mental department.

Wilander: Not sure if Raducanu can win a Slam soon but she can return to the top-10

I dont think we can look at Emma Raducanu and say that she has another Grand Slam victory in her yet. She has to prove a few more things before we talk about her like that, the former seven-time Grand Slam champion said.

But we are looking at an Emma Raducanu that can break into the top 10 here in a year or two, in my eyes, and Im pretty convinced that she will break into the best players in the world.

If we ask can she win another major? Thats another completely different question for another day.

Raducanu hasnt made it past a Grand Slam round-of-16 since the 2021 US Open. But that could change soon since she stated a couple of days ago that she was feeling her best going into a Majorin years.
