Coco Gauff decided to go watch a horror movie by herself and that one didn't go well since the American tennis star admitted to feeling "scared" afterward, especially after she started driving alone at night.

While in Cincinnati for the WTA 1000 tournament, the home star wanted some alone time. On August 8th, Weapons - a horror movie - was released. And the two-time Grand Slam champion thought it would be nice to watch the movie in a theater. Although it was from the horror genre, she didn't want to bring anyone with her.

Already in the theater, Gauff started feeling nervous. But the real tension didn't start until she left the theater and started driving back to her hotel apartment in Cincinnati.

Gauff: The movie was scary, then there was nobody on the road in Ohio after 10 PM...

"The other day, I went to the movies and saw Weapons, which is a scary movie. I don't recommend seeing scary movies alone. And then having to drive back in the middle of the night in the middle of Ohio doesnt help either. So I don't know if I'll do that again," the 21-year-old said on Tennis Channel.

"Yeah, I went by myself, which was fine. It sounded like a good idea, and then I was in the parking lot, which was basically empty. And then the movie was scary, and I was just like, Then there's nobody on the road in Ohio after like 10 PM, so why do I do this? So I don't recommend that."

Gauff may have been left feeling scared after watching Weapons, but that hasn't impacted a bit her performance in Cincinnati as she has been through to the quarterfinal stage. On Friday, the No. 2 seed will take on Jasmine Paolini.

Gauff's maiden WTA 1000 level came in Cincinnati two years ago.
