Keegan Bradley doesn't want to repeat the same mistakes as his predecessor, Zach Johnson, in Rome at the end of September 2023. Two years ago, the American team arrived in Italy a little "rusty," after a long break between the end of the FedEx Cup Playoffs and the 44th Ryder Cup.

This commando-style "gathering" could take place at the Procore Championship in Napa, California, host of the first FedEx Cup Fall tournament scheduled for September 11-14. That's two weeks before the Ryder Cup in the suburbs of New York. Scottie Scheffler, the undisputed world No. 1, has also included this tournament in his preparation process.

"We're looking at all the options to best prepare ourselves," adds Bradley. "The preparation is really different from what I experienced when I was playing with a team, the week after the Tour Championship, so we exchange ideas on what to do best. It's a long season for the guys and the Playoffs are very demanding, but they are more motivated than ever to be ready for this tournament."
"I think if you look at the last Ryder Cup, you realize that it was perhaps a little too much rest for us," warns Scottie Scheffler. "It's a difficult time. When you get to the end of the PGA Tour season, you're a little tired." With the current schedule, I think there are about four weeks after the Tour Championship before the Ryder Cup, which gives me plenty of time to rest and still be competitive. It's important for me to get out and get some practice in before the Ryder Cup. I felt like last time it was maybe a little too much rest."
