Jannik Sinner enjoyed a relaxed day at the office in Cincinnati. The defending champion faced Felix Auger-Aliassime in the quarter-final and provided a one-sided 6-0, 6-2 victory in 71 minutes.
Thus, world no. 1 remained on the title course and entered his 12th Masters 1000 semi-final. Jannik also extended his hard-court winning streak to 25 matches, moving closer to Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal.
Felix entered the match with a 2-0 score against Jannik. However, the Canadian played a terrible match and collected only two games, standing powerless against the world's best player.
Sinner dropped 11 points in seven service games and got broken once from the only chance offered to his rival. The Italian claimed 64% of the return points and played against ten break points.
Auger-Aliassime suffered six breaks and ended his run in the quarter-final. Jannik landed seven winners and 12 unforced errors. He did not need more than that after a tragic 5-29 ratio on the other side of the net.

World no. 1 forged a 15-6 lead in service winners and 30-14 from the baseline, dominating every segment and sailing into the last four. Sinner did not do much in the opening set outside service winners.
However, it was enough for a bagel, as his rival played one of the worst sets of the year. Felix woke up at the beginning of the second set and clinched a break for a 2-0 advantage.
Still, he faded from the court after that, allowing Sinner to rattle off six games and move over the top.
