The AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event will be taking place this month and as is usually the case with all AEW pay-per-views, fans expect it to be pretty long. Now, the maximum runtime for the event has been revealed.
The pay-per-view will take place at The O2 in London, England on Sunday, August 24, with the main card starting at 6 pm BST. This gives the show a maximum possible runtime of 4 hours and 30 minutes before the venues 10:30 pm curfew.
According to the Sun, it is to be noted that AEW will likely avoid going over the curfew, as The O2s operators, AEG, and Transport for London can fine up to 10,000 for each minute past the limit.
AEW pay-per-views in 2025 have consistently run long shows. Revolution lasted 4 hours and 5 minutes, Dynasty went 4 hours and 23 minutes, Double or Nothing hit the full 4 hours and 30 minutes, and All In: Texas set a record as the longest pro wrestling pay-per-view ever at 5 hours and 53 minutes, even though they initially planned on trimming the runtime.
AEW is known for its long, epic pay-per-views, but Forbidden Door in London will have to stay within a strict time limit due to The O2s curfew. Its unclear if this will lead to a faster-paced event with shorter matches or simply smoother, more efficient transitions between bouts, but the promotion will need to manage its time carefully to avoid costly overruns.
