The WNBA is experiencing a boom like never before, record-breaking viewership, sold-out arenas, and ticket demand at an all-time high. And no player has been more central to that rise than Caitlin Clark.
From her record-shattering college career at Iowa, where she broke Pete Maravichs all-time NCAA scoring record, to becoming the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Clark has been a magnet for attention.
Every game shes played has felt like an event, and she knows exactly what she means to the fans and the league.
I am going to go on every road game, whether I play or not, Clark said during a o Birds Eye View.Obviously, I feel the responsibility of being out there and playing You do wanna play, you wanna give people something to scream about or to cheer about. You know, people spend so much money, time and resources to come watch you play, its been cool to see people continue to show up, and for my teammates. Whether they are fans of the Fever or just fans of myself. They are continuing to show up and support.
Clark has missed 10 straight games with a right groin injury suffered in a July 15 win over the Connecticut Sun.
Its the latest setback in a frustrating campaign thats limited her to just 13 appearances after dealing with multiple leg injuries.
She also missed the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis, where her absence was felt both on the court and in TV ratings.
But she is still determined to make an effort with fans.
I sign autographs for way longer when Im hurt, then when Im active, Clark said. I just wanna take as much time for people and give them something to remember.
