Carlos Alcaraz admits that having time for himself and away from tennis is extremely important to him simply because it helps him keep constantly motivated and joyful on the court.
By now, pretty much everyone knows that the five-time Grand Slam champion absolutely loves to treat himself with a nice vacation after a great result, and he has been a regular at Ibiza over the past couple of years.
After pulling off an unbelievable comeback in the French Open final to beat Jannik Sinner, the Spanish tennis star went to Ibiza for a couple of days. When the world No. 2 returned to action, he won Queen's before finishing as runner-up at Wimbledon. Although the 22-year-old didn't win Wimbledon, it was still a great grass swing for him, and he rewarded himself with a two-week trip to southern Spain.

Alcaraz: Sometimes it's too many weeks in a row... I love having time for myself
"I love having time for me if I have to be honest. I always say that's what you are working for as well, you know? Okay, I love playing tennis and I love when I step on the court, but sometimes it's too many days in a row, too many weeks in a row. So I just love to take my time off just with my family, with my friends, just at home, doing nothing at all," the 22-year-old admitted.
As mentioned above, Alcaraz didn't play for some time after Wimbledon. After skipping the Toronto Masters, the world No. 2 started his North American hard-court at the ongoing Cincinnati Masters, where he beat Damir Dzumhur after a first-round bye.

"For me it's needful to come back stronger and hungry, to catch the racket and hit some balls," the Spaniard noted.
In the Cincinnati third round, Alcaraz plays against Hamad Medjedovic. The 22-year-old Spaniard has yet to win Cincinnati but he has one final in his resume, having finished as runner-up to Novak Djokovic in the 2023 final.
