Jim Ross committed to a new AEW contract last year and hes now revealed that his current deal with the company will be expiring this month.
While speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross talked about his contract status after Conrad Thompson asked him about it. Ross said his deal ends in August, but he hopes to sign a new one. He doesnt plan on leaving AEW and likes his part-time schedule because it keeps him energized. He also enjoys working with Tony Khan, who he says treats him well.
Ross explained that Khan doesnt overload announcers with instructions during shows, which helps them stay on track and keep good timing. He noted that producing commentary is a tough job and can hurt the broadcast if done wrong. His agent Barry Bloom is handling the negotiations, and Ross isnt worried about it.
Considering the fact that Jim Ross has already confirmed he will be working the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view on August 24th, fans are hopeful that he will re-sign with the company. After all, Good ol JR isnt going anywhere and wants to end his career in AEW.
