Golf, just like all sports, is subject to change. Over the years, it is clear that every sport is progressing equally with the arrival of new faces and it seems that the competition on the golf scene is getting stronger as well.
After playing with Lottie Woad at the James Shearman Women's Open, Minjee Lee shared an interesting point of view, revealing that there are significantly more talents on the golf scene now than when she started her career.
Lee believes that there are not such huge differences between female golfers in these tournaments, noting that with experience a large number of them will progress and come out on top.
Its totally, totally different from obviously when I started, Lee said, as quoted by the Golfing Gazette.
I think I said this before, it was a little more top-heavy, but I feel like the depth of the field goes I dont really know if theres like that much of a gap now. Its very everybody is younger and talented and really fearless.
I played with Lottie today, and she played great. Yeah, theyre just I feel like they dont really care as much. Maybe they need a couple more years to get more experience, and they will (laughter)."
Minje Lee has confidence, but she is also aware of the dangers
Lee, on the other hand, is a golfer who still has strong self-belief, feeling that she still belongs at the very top of the golf scene. The Australian golfer has had some notable results this season, and it seems that she is well on her way to being a dominant figure on the golf scene in the coming months.
Ultimately, Lee is convinced that talented girls will make even bigger strides towards the top, which will make it much more difficult for her and her older colleagues who have been at the very top of the sport for years.
