Cameron Young has been searching for a victory on the PGA Tour for years, and although he was on the verge of lifting the trophy many times, he always fell short. However, the 28-year-old lifted the curse by performing at the Wyndham Championship, achieving his first career victory.
With this kind of victory, Young has a much better chance of winning a spot on the US Ryder Cup team this year.
Vice-captain, Gary Woodland had only words of praise for the 28-year-old golfer, emphasizing that Cameron has shown his talent countless times. Nevertheless, such a step was necessary for him, in order to progress even more and gain the necessary confidence.
Woodland emphasized the superior aspects of the 28-year-old's game, admitting that he is quite happy about his success.
Awesome, awesome. We all know hes got a lot of talent. Hes been out here for a while, I think seven runner-up finishes or whatever it is. The start that he got off to today, I saw the leaderboard, him taking off, its awesome. Im happy for him, he deserves it. I think its just the start, he said, as quoted by The Golfing Gazette.
I mean, the way he drives the golf ball, his putting stats this year are really good as well. Cams got a lot of talent and anytime you can bring a lot of talent, it helps everybody. Im happy for him. Like I said, I think its just the start for him, he added, when asked about what he would bring to the team if involved."

Young is a golfer who has been an important figure in the golf scene for years, but his inconsistency seemed to be the reason why he didn't get the attention he could have.
He is well on his way to securing a place in the team, but for such a feat it will be necessary for him to be an equally dominant figure in the golf world in the coming weeks.
