Solo Sikoa is still leading his family tree as US Champion.
SummerSlam night one ended with shock, but they were only getting started. The second night included a ton of violence, with Superstars pulling out all the stops all night.
Night two of SummerSlam saw the cage lower as Jacob Fatu stepped in the ring to take on Solo Sikoa for the WWE United States Title.
This match had a lot of history involved with it. They are former members of the same faction, and Jacob used to proclaim that he loves Solo. Now, Fatu is promising to dog walk Solo all over MetLife Stadium.
This match saw both men going at each other from the get-go. Eventually, Jacob Fatu started to rally as he fired off multiple moonsaults for a near fall. Talla Tonga, JC Mateo and Tama Tonga showed up at ringside and then Jimmy Uso came out as Jacobs backup to take out the MFTs.
The door of the cage was opened, but Jacob Fatu told the referee to close it, close the goddamn gate, its all gas and no brakes! he yelled. Solo nailed a Samoan Spike, but then Fatu kicked out. The match carried on and both men eventually found themselves fighting for position and then the MFTs climbed the cage, with Talla Tonga holding handcuffs in his mouth. He handcuffed Jacob Fatu to the top of the steel cage as Solo tried to climb out of the ring, but Fatu broke the cuffs and got to Solo first. This became a will they/wont they regarding falling to the floor, but then Talla Tonga smashed Jacob with the cage door and Solo climbed to the floor to win the match.
We will keep our eye on Jacob Fatu, because he is destined for greatness. Its rare when a Superstar connects with the crowd in such a big and instant way, but that has certainly happened in this case. Only time will tell where he is on the card in a year from now.
