Former WWE NXT referee Drake Wuertz became a controversial name thanks to his COVID-denying views, among other things, a few years ago. Now it appears that he has finally apologized for everything during an indie show.

During Juggalo Championship Wrestlings Powerkeg event, Drake Wuertz cut an emotional promo, thanking JCW and GCW for their support. He said hes a changed man now; clean, sober, focused, and thinking clearly.

Wuertz also apologized to anyone he may have hurt, offended or misrepresented over the past five years. He admitted he made some embarrassing mistakes and said hes truly sorry for the way he acted in the past.

During his time in NXT, Drake Wuertzwas suspendedfrom the Performance Center. The controversial referee gained infamy aftersharing right-winged opinionsthat bordered on QAnon conspiracies. He would eventually distancehimself from such stancesbut it was too little too late as WWE eventually fired him.

While its still unclear how the wrestling community will respond to this new chapter, Wuertzs open apology shows he is taking responsibility for his past actions. Therefore, well have to see if he will eventually get back to WWE now that he is clearly a better person.
