One of the most surprising news of the last few days has undoubtedly been the separation between Naomi Osaka and Patrick Mouratoglou, who have mutually decided to end their collaboration after less than a year.
It is not wrong to say that despite the huge expectations that were placed on this partnership at the beginning the results did not live up to expectations, considering that the Japanese star has only won one WTA title during his time together with the famous French coach.
Right now, the former world number 1 is still a long way from the top positions of the WTA rankings and struggles to reach the level necessary to aspire to conquer the most prestigious titles. Many experts and insiders thought that Mouratoglou was the right man to bring her back to the top of the women's tour, instead he failed to have the impact that was expected and Naomi announced the separation just before the start of the Montreal WTA.

Mouratoglou is no longer Osakas coach
Osaka has won only one title while collaborating with Mouratoglou more precisely the Saint-Malo WTA 125 really too little for a champion of her caliber, who has made the recent history of women's tennis by becoming a point of reference for all her rivals.
On the latest episode of Andy Roddick's podcast, top analyst Jon Wertheim confessed that the news of this separation did not surprise him so much: I dont think this was a huge surprise. This has been a relationship of less than a year. Osaka has won a fair amount of matches but not at the biggest and best events.
Patrick has got his hand in a million pots and is promoting a book and is doing the tennis showdown. Naomi is based in Miami and Patrick is an ocean away in Nice.

Patrick is also a guy who pumps a player up with confidence, I think he is much better known for that than any tactical expertise and I think if a player doesnt have confidence, as Naomi doesnt appear to have much of right now, I am not sure what the relationship is all about.
