AEWs plans for Jay White just took another major hitand this time, it might keep the Switchblade out for the rest of the year.

According to a new update from Fightful Select on July 25, 2025, White is now also dealing with a shoulder injury on top of the hand injury that has already kept him out of action since March.

Sources claim White may miss more time than expected and those within AEW havent heard anything suggesting hes close to a return. In fact, the opposite is truesome in the company said White had been weighing whether to undergo shoulder surgery. While no final decision has been confirmed, it was indicated that its possible hed miss the rest of the year if he goes through with it.

White has already been off television for months after injuring his hand in a match against Kevin Knight on March 29. That injury pulled him out of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and scrapped AEWs reported plans for a major match against Will Ospreay at Dynasty.

Jay White previously missed time in the summer of 2024, and now his 2025 is shaping up to be another injury-riddled year. With AEW forced to pivot multiple creative plans around his absence, its clear his returnwhenever it happenswill be under heavy scrutiny.
