At 61, Miguel ngel Jimnez continues to enjoy himself and everyone else on the golf course. For him, any time is a good time, and during the first day of the Senior British Open, he gave another example of his contagious good humor, the grace that has always accompanied him throughout his career.

On the 3rd hole, he teed off into the high rough, but on his second shot, he pulled the ball out of the weeds with such great touch that he sank a tremendous eagle on the 288-meter par 4 at Sunningdale, Berkshire, England.
If the shot was fantastic, so was his celebration: he made his usual swordsman gesture, sheathing the club around his waist as if it were a sword, and then did a little dance that evidently created the good vibe that "Pisha" always strives for.

Miguel ngel is one of the favorites in the fifth and final Grand Slam of the season on the senior circuit, reserved for golfers over 50. The Spaniard is in first place at the 2025 Charles Schwab Cup thanks to his four titles, including the Kaulig Companies Championship, the third major of his career after reigning at the Regions Tradition and the 2018 British Championship, where he had the pleasure of winning in the "birthplace" of golf, Saint-Andrews.
Jimnez then made two birdies (9, 14) and a bogey (12) to post an opening round of 67 (-3) and share fifth place, four strokes behind the leader, New Zealander Steven Alker (63), who scored an eagle, six birdies, and a bogey.
The rules of golf are relatively complicated compared to other sports because they are played outdoors, close to nature and animals. Respecting the rules is a fundamental element in the game of golf, which, almost always based on self-control and the free conscience of the players, often sees distorted results, sometimes consciously, but often unconsciously or through carelessness, due to the failure of many players to comply with the rules of the game. In addition to the rules, golf adheres to a code of conduct, known as etiquette, which generally means playing the game with due respect for the golf course and other players. Etiquette is an essential component of this sport.
