Stefanos Tsitsipas issued a cryptic post in the wake of his split with Goran Ivanisevic and some strong remarks used in recent days, suggesting that he feels successful when he is being misunderstood.

The past month has been a turbulent one for Tsitsipas. First, the Greek exited Wimbledon in the first round after retiring due to a back injury. The following day, he was publicly humiliated when his own coach Ivanisevic called him "the most unprepared player." If that wasn't enough, then he also ended his love story with Paula Badosa.

After a couple of rough weeks, the 26-year-oldalso called time on his collaboration with the Croatian coach, which lasted only two tournaments.

"Success is being okay with people misunderstanding you," the former world No. 3 wrote on X.

What has happened since Tsitsipas and Ivanisevic split?

The two-time Grand Slam finalist refused to publicly respond to Ivanisevic after his coach's post-Wimbledon criticism. But after their partnership ended, the 27-year-old used the word "dictators" when explaining what he didn't want to have around him.

"It is very difficult to have dictators and people who speak negatively and you don't feel like they are close to you like family," Tsitsipas told Greek publication SDNA..

Meanwhile, Ivanisevic was adamant that his previous remarks about the 27-year-old weren't something insulting. However, the 2001 Wimbledon champion made it clear that he had no regrets about the way he criticized the Greek's shape and condition.

"It was blown out of proportions, I didnt insult him I told him all of that, its not like I was saying it behind his back. Now it seems like you cant say anything anymore. I said it honestly, to get a reaction. Thats how this generation is. Unfortunately, thats how it is, everyone sees it. He feels it too, and he knows," Ivanisevic told Sport Klub.

Knowing Tsitsipas, his X post could have easily been a response to all the chatter surrounding him and his career in recent weeks.
