AEW just reshuffled the calendar againthis time its Ring of Honors Death Before Dishonor 2025 getting a date switch, and now we know exactly why.
On the July 19 episode of AEW Collision, it was officially announced that ROH Death Before Dishonor will now be held on Friday, August 29, instead of the previously scheduled September 5 date. The event is still set to go down at the iconic 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, a venue deeply tied to pro wrestling history and now home to multiple AEW and ROH tapings.
While some fans speculated about production issues or logistical concerns, Dave Meltzer cleared things up in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. According to Meltzer, the change came down to one thing: Tony Khans personal schedule.
This marks the second time the event has been rescheduled. It was initially slotted for July 11, but plans shifted after ROH Supercard of Honor was bumped to the night before AEW All In: Texas. While no matches have been confirmed for the updated card yet, fans can expect announcements soon now that the date is locked.
Whether fans view this move as justified or frustrating, it does reinforce just how hands-on Tony Khan remains with his showseven if it means changing plans to avoid missing an event.
