John Cena isnt closing the door on facing The Rock one last timebut hes also not booking the match in his head.
At Fan Expo Denver, the 16-time world champion was asked if he would consider ending his WWE run with one more blockbuster showdown against The Rock. Cena called it fantasy booking, and while he admitted the idea would be cool, he made it clear that setting expectations isnt his style.
Instead of chasing dream matches, Cena says his longevity in WWE comes from his disciplineshowing up, doing the work, and being accountable. That includes taking full blame for missteps like the infamous Nexus storyline.
Still, Cena acknowledged the praise hes received for his current run and expressed gratitude that WWE allows him creative freedom to shape the story his way.
The Rock hasnt been seen since Elimination Chamber 2025, when he appeared with Cena and Travis Scott. Whether a final battle between these two icons happens remains to be seenbut if it does, it wont be because Cena campaigned for it.
Cenas farewell tour is winding down fast, and if the stars align, the Final Boss may get one last challenge. Until then, Cenas not holding his breath.
