Shayna Baszler might be done with WWE, but shes clearly not done with combat sportsor screen time. During the Countdown to Slammiversary pre-show, fans watching TNA Wrestling caught a surprise appearance from Baszler as part of a promotional video for Invicta FC.
Invicta FC, the all-womens MMA promotion under the same Anthem Sports & Entertainment umbrella as TNA, aired a vignette featuring Baszler speaking about her roots in the promotion. Ive always carried that time with me, Baszler said during the video, reflecting on her stint with Invicta from 2012 to 2013. She competed three times for the company, ending her run with a 1-2 record.
Baszlers WWE contract came to an end in May when she was quietly released from the company. But that hasnt kept her away from the wrestling business. Earlier this month, she popped up on NXT in a backstage role.
The Invicta FC segment airing during a major TNA event has fans asking questionswas this just a tribute to her past, or a sign she might return to TNA or Invicta in a bigger role? No official announcement has been made, but its clear Baszler is keeping options open on both sides of the fight game.
