Kenny Omega may have walked out of AEW All In: Texas without serious injurybut that doesnt mean hes sticking around.
According to Fightful Select, Omega is expected to take time off following his brutal match against Kazuchika Okada at All In, where both the AEW International and Continental Titles were unified. Omega didnt appear on the July 16 episode of AEW Dynamite and was also absent from the Collision tapings that followed.
Don Callis didnt hold back during Dynamite either, throwing fuel on the fire with a harsh on-air jab. Don Callis repeatedly referred to Kenny Omega as dead after losing his Unified Championship match against Kazuchika Okada.
AEW sources have confirmed Omega is expected to be off TV for at least a stretch. Whats unclear is whether this time off will be a full break from television or just sporadic appearances.
Omega has only been back in action for a few months following a scary battle with diverticulitisan illness that sidelined him for most of early 2025 and nearly ended his career. Since his return, hes wrestled ten matches, including his 30-minute war with Okada that left fans questioning how much more his body could take.
It also mentioned that Omega joins a growing list of top names taking time off, including Samoa Joe and Will Ospreay. Adam Cole has also publicly announced hes out of action indefinitely. AEW reportedly had plans for others to take time off too, but some ended up sticking around longer than expected due to creative needs.
Kenny Omega might be stepping away for now, but with the dust still settling from All In, the timing could be just what he needs.
