CM Punk might be gearing up for a huge clash with GUNTHER at SummerSlam, but dont expect to see his wife AJ Lee by his side anytime soon or ever.
Despite fans constantly hoping for a joint on-screen return, Punk made it crystal clear that working with his wife just isnt part of the plan.
In a new interview with TV Insider, Punk explained why keeping work and marriage separate has been key for their relationship. He even dropped a blunt two-part rule thats become gospel for the power couple.
While Punk and AJ famously shared TV time in 2012 during a major storyline that saw her managing and clashing with him as Raws General Manager, that chapter is firmly closed. Punk made it clear that era isnt returning no matter how loud the fans chant for it.
Outside the ring, both Punk and AJ have built careers in the entertainment world. Punk, in particular, has turned heads with his roles in Heels and Girl on the Third Floor. When it comes to navigating the acting space, theres one person he trusts without hesitation: fellow wrestler-turned-Hollywood star Dave Bautista.
As for Punks wrestling future, hes laser-focused on SummerSlam and his upcoming match against World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER a collision fans have been waiting for. But if youre holding out hope for an AJ Lee return or a joint storyline, Punk just shut that fantasy down in the most honest way possible.
