AEW might have just set the stage for one of its biggest tag team matches everand it all started with a t-shirt typo and a no-touch clause.

On the July 16 episode of AEW Dynamite from Chicago, Adam Copeland hit the ring wearing a new Rated R Ledgend shirtyes, with a typoand cut a fiery promo just days after his return at All In: Texas. The fans were all in, singing along to his entrance and embracing the Rated R Superstar despite the botched merch.

But things took a sharp turn when Stokely Hathaway stormed out to drop a major bombshell. He revealed that AEW received three anonymous emails complaining about Copelands use of a barbed weaponSpikeduring All In. Tony Khan and AEW management acted fast, issuing a strict legal warning.

Copeland, known for always staying a step ahead, didnt miss a beat. He reminded Hathaway that the new clause didnt mention himand then brutally speared Stokely in the middle of the ring. Security got wrecked too, as Copeland tore through the segment while staying technically within the rules.

With Copeland legally banned from touching FTR and AEW building tension week after week, it didnt take long for speculation to heat up. Dave Meltzer chimed in on Wrestling Observer Radio, tying it all together.

Its all coming together for a massive showdown. AEW has effectively planted the seeds, and fans are already eyeing Toronto on September 20 as the site of Copeland and Christians reunion against FTR.
