There have been rumors that TKO is looking to acquire TNA Wrestling as a whole but TNA President Carlos Silva has now denied these rumors.
While speaking on the Getting Over podcast, Carlos Silva addressed the rumors that WWE or TKO might be interested in buying TNA or acquiring Anthem Sports. He made it clear that no such conversations have taken place, either internally or with WWE.
Silva explained that his focus is on creating and building successful properties that fans truly enjoy. He believes that delivering a great product and handling the business side professionally will naturally lead to opportunities over time.
Silva also noted that the current partnership with WWE and NXT is going well and will continue to grow. While something could come up in the future, right now the priority is on events like Slammiversary and Bound for Glory, improving TV content, working with partners and more.
If all of that is done well, Silva believes the business will take care of itself and future opportunities will be explored when the time is right.
For now, Carlos Silva and the TNA leadership team are focused on growing the company for the long run. With big events like Slammiversary and Bound for Glory on the way, TNA is putting its energy into running strong shows and keeping fans involved, instead of paying attention to any takeover rumors. Regardless, well have to see if WWE does buy TNA one day.
What are your thoughts on Carlos Silvas comments? Do you think TNA should remain independent, or would a TKO acquisition benefit the brand long-term? Sound off in the comments.
