Brian Cage isnt stepping into a wrestling ring anytime soonbut its not because he doesnt want to. The AEW powerhouse recently revealed hes undergone surgeries on both knees after trying to power through chronic pain for more than a year and a half.
In a new interview with Wombreezy and The Magic Of Wrestling, Cage admitted that his right knee had been giving him trouble for roughly 18 months. The original plan was to finish out AEW All In Texas before finally addressing the issue.
But in March, a tear in his left knee forced him to rethink everything. With the damage already done, Cage decided to take care of both knees while he had the chanceeven if the rehab process has been brutal.
Trying to heal both knees simultaneously has taken its toll. Cage admitted his left knee has suffered some regression due to overcompensating during recovery.
As for when fans can expect to see him back in the ring? Dont expect a countdown. Cage is keeping his return date completely under wraps.
Brian Cages last match went down on March 20 in a no contest against Chris Masters at OnlyWrestlers Association. With his recovery still underway, fans will have to stay patient for that next suplex from The Machine.
