As Bronny James makes strides in the 2025 NBA Summer League, Dwyane Wade has been paying close attention.
The Hall of Famer praised LeBron James son for his skillset, confidence, and development.
Bronny is cold, bro, Wade said on his Time Out podcast. Bronny is just61or62. I watched the moves. I watched his movement. This is not sayinghesgoing to be a 30-point scorer in the league, but bro the kid can hoop.
Bronny has averaged 13 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 23 minutes per game on 44.8 percent shooting through three Summer League appearances.
Last season with the Lakers, he averaged 2.3 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 27 games on 31.3 percent shooting.
His bag is heavy. His bag is tough; he got it all, Wade added. Its really cool to see his confidence now. You started seeing it as he went to the G-League when he started dunking on [expletive] and having those games. But you saw it in that first play of Summer League. That shows you everything.
Wade explained how the NBA learning curve is crucial for young players and applied it to Bronnys path.
Gotta learn the game. You gotta learn the physicality, you gotta learn the plays. You gotta learn to play with grown men, Wade said. His play is going to show you when that step is going to come. But it may not be this year neither. He needs to develop, but hes developing so fast, in front of our eyes. Its not a slow development. But stop putting pressure on him that he needs to be a rotational player. He needs to take the next step in his development and whatever that provides, is what the young man needs to keep doing.
James latest Summer League outing was his best yet, putting up 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists on 60 percent shooting against the Clippers.
