Seth Rollins was injured duringSaturday Nights Main Event and while many believe it could be really serious, it appears that might not be the case and he might return sooner than expected.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez provided an update on Seth Rollins injury situation, saying that Rollins definitely has a minor knee injury. Alvarez says WWE worked this into the storyline during Saturday Nights Main Event.
While Rollins is getting the issue taken care of, WWE is going to push the idea that hell be out for nine months. The plan is to eventually have him make a surprise return, likely not as soon as SummerSlam but still significantly ahead of schedule.
Alvarez pointed out that the way WWE handled the segment made it obvious this was more storyline than serious injury. If Rollins had actually torn his ACL and everything else they were hinting at on Saturday, there wouldnt have been immediate information by Monday.
Alvarez added that Paul Levesque isnt hiding anything here; its clear this is meant to come across as part of an angle. Rollins is only mildly hurt and should be back sooner rather than later.
This comes after we reported that Seth Rollins injury forced WWE to change the planned ending for Saturday Nights Main Event last week. Nonetheless, well have to see whether Rollins will actually end up returning sooner rather than later, as Bryan Alvarez definitely believes that will happen.
